Bergamot is an orange that hits you like a ray of sun with its energizing aroma. Grown in the hot Calabrian sun in Italy, the fruit is sour, the oil from the peel is what chefs and perfumers seek out. The peel is cold pressed to release all the zesty citrus, floral and peppery notes. Bergamot is the distinctive flavor in Earl Grey tea.
The bergamot oil is infused into Dream Machine, a dark chocolate we make with cacao beans from our favourite farms and growing regions. Just add heat to make a rich, melty hot chocolate that will wake your sniffer and taste buds up fully.
It’s easy to make. For 2 servings...
Bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil in small saucepan. Add 6 tablespoons of dry mix. Reduce heat to a simmer and whisk until thick and smooth. This is your liquid chocolate.
Serve 1/4 cup of liquid chocolate “as is” in a shot glass for an intense shot.
For a traditional mug, add 3/4 cup of warm milk or hot water to 1/4 cup of liquid chocolate.
