Notes from Little Sister:
Yacurí is named for the nature reserve nestled between Loja & Zamora-Chinchipe, in southern Ecuador where this coffee hails from. The producers from these two provinces who contribute to this lot practice agroforestry to help manage the impact of farming on their land, and have collectively achieved organic certification for their coffee. Coffee is individually wet milled, fermented, washed and dried at each farm, before it is combined and dry milled in Quito. We are tasting a low-acidic citrus punch evocative of clementine, with smooth vanilla mouthfeel and a caramelized, sugary finish.
