Notes from Little Sister:

Little Sister is thrilled to introduce the first coffee we have sourced from the Democratic Republic of Congo  - a lovely fully washed offering from the women members of the SOPACDI cooperative. The formation of SOPACDI has enabled producers in DRC to export high quality specialty coffee together directly, rather than having to make the dangerous crossing across Lake Kivu into Rwanda. This particular lot is kept separate in order to pay premiums directly to the women who grew it, making inroads towards financial independence and autonomy. The mountains around Lake Kivu are temperate, rainy and volcanic - ideal growing conditions for coffee that yield this bright sparkling cup - with sweet notes of milk chocolate to round it out.
