As a teenager obsessed with punk and hardcore music and its associated subcultures I became increasingly interested in the tradition and craft of "old school" tattooing. For what it's worth there is something comforting about how certain things remain constant despite the trends of the time - I'm sure I would offend someone by saying that hardcore music is a genre that refuses to evolve, and in some ways the popularity may ebb and flow with traditional tattooing but it too seemingly appears to refuse to change.
Here's to digging your heels in the mud and staying constant!
